Title: Duff information on the National Rail Enquiries website
Post by: Brucey on November 23, 2012, 20:51:18
How are irregular customers/passengers supposed to want to come back to the railways when the "definitive" source of information is often incorrect?

Another one I noticed today is that the station layout for Acton Central and South Acton says "Prepaid tickets can be collected here".

Well, they most certainly cannot.  As I found out this evening when I walked the 1.5 miles from home to Acton Central, only to discover I couldn't collect my tickets.  Fortunately, the ticket is for travel tomorrow, but it still means I'll have to go out of my way to collect it from somewhere else.

Closer inspection of the TVM photograph (http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/stations/sjp/ACC/images/photos/800/o1011-0000037.jpg) shows there are only two options: buy a ticket and Oyster, plus a selection of languages.  No way of collecting a ticket.  So even when the photographs were taken, this option was not available.

Luckily I was not travelling today, otherwise I would have been required to pay another fare for a journey I am already entitled to make.

I had hoped to collect the ticket from the Red Spotted Hanky machine at work, but it won't issue the ticket for some reason or another.
