Title: Chiltern Railways train services hit by cable theft - 15 November 2012 Post by: Chris from Nailsea on November 15, 2012, 10:06:28 From the BBC (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-20336888?):
Quote Rail services between the West Midlands and London have been disrupted after 70m (230ft) of signal cable was stolen. Chiltern Railways said the theft happened at about 04:30 GMT on Thursday between Solihull and Warwick Parkway stations. The vandalism caused delays and cancellations to services between Worcestershire and London Marylebone. A spokesperson for the operator said services were expected to return to normal by "early afternoon". They apologised for the disruption and said: "We are now able to run some services in both directions between Birmingham and London. "This is after 70m of cable was taken between Solihull and Warwick Parkway and resulted in us not being able to run any services this morning between Kidderminster and Lapworth. "Cancellations and delays may still happen, so do check your journey before you travel." Tickets are being accepted by other train operators running through affected areas. Scheduled 1752 left BSW 6 down (congestion at BMO being given at the cause), with the 1812 which I had been aiming to catch advertised as cancelled - glad the 1752 was a few mins late and I got there reasonably early! Terminated MYB 15 late or so, in the end, virtually running in the path of the 1812 I suspect.
There was a suggestion on their Twitter feed of signalling problems at BSW which must have happened just after I left.
