Title: Bedwyn Station celebrates 150 years - 11 November 2012 Post by: Chris from Nailsea on November 13, 2012, 23:46:38 From the First Great Western press release:
Quote Bedwyn station celebrated its 150th birthday last Sunday [11 November] and is a lifeline for the local community. In recognition of the valuable service, Bedwyn Trains Passenger Group presented the driver of the day^s first service, First Great Western^s Chris Boyce, with a commemorative mug. The mugs have been printed with a copy of Bedwyn^s 1862 timetable and profits from the sale of the mugs will be donated to The Bruce Trust - a local charity providing canal boat holidays for disabled, disadvantaged and elderly people. The boats are moored in Bedwyn. First Great Western has pledged ^150 for the trust and donated two first class tickets for the charity to raffle as a prize.
