Title: Disruption at West Drayton Post by: SandTEngineer on November 03, 2012, 12:04:57 There seem to have been some major issues in the West Drayton area over the past two days. Anybody know whats going on (or wrong ::))
Title: Re: Disruption at West Drayton Post by: TonyK on November 03, 2012, 12:08:46 Was wondering the same myself. FGW's site says "emergency engineering works", without further explanation. Twitter is silent on the matter, although there are also problems at Herefrod.
Title: Re: Disruption at West Drayton Post by: Southern Stag on November 03, 2012, 12:41:38 I believe the issue is still the same ongoing from yesterday. There was a wire or cable hanging from a signal gantry in the West Drayton area. Network Rail have closed the down relief and up main lines, originally to inspect, but now presumably to fix the problem.
Title: Re: Disruption at West Drayton Post by: Chris from Nailsea on November 03, 2012, 14:12:48 Indeed - there's a bit more detail now on FGW JourneyCheck:
Quote Line problem: between London Paddington and Slough Owing to emergency engineering works between London Paddington and Slough some lines are closed. Train services running through these stations may be cancelled or delayed by up to 15 mins at short notice. Disruption is expected until 16:00 03/11. Two out of the four running lines in the West Drayton area are closed as a result of this emergency engineering work. In order to provide a service with the least disruption for our customers it has proved necessary to reduce the number of train movements through the affected area which may result in extended journey times.
