Ealing Broadway Station has reopened after a person was hit by a Heathrow Express train earlier this afternoon.

Services were briefly suspended following the incident, and the emergency services were at the scene.

The Gazette understands that the Heathrow Connect service has now resumed and the London Underground is unaffected. However there is still some disruption to services between Paddington and Slough.

Just managed to catch the delayed 1806 frame service from paddington because it was delayed by 12 minutes. On the departure boards a number of services to the south west were showing as "please enquire" is this due to a separate event or are they turning some services around at reading ?

There are delays of up to 60 minutes to and from London Paddington according to National Rail Enquiries.

The Heathrow Express service has resumed but is operating with severe delays.

First Great Western tickets will now be accepted on South West Trains and Cross Country services due to the current disruption.

The problems on the line are likely to affect fans travelling to Reading this evening to watch the football match with Arsenal and they are being advised to make alternative arrangements.

Problems still - from FGW JourneyCheck:

Quote
Line problem: between London Paddington and Ealing Broadway

Following a person hit by a train earlier between London Paddington and Ealing Broadway all lines are now open.

Train services running through these stations may be delayed by up to 20 mins or revised at short notice. Disruption is expected until 01:00 31/10.

Owing to the considerable dislocation to train crew and rolling stock that has resulted from the unfortunate earlier incident at Ealing Broadway train services from and to Paddington are still subject to some disruption.
