Title: Westbury Westbound
Post by: grahame on October 29, 2012, 08:14:33
Sunday morning isn't usually a time that I'm at Westbury station - however, greeting a relative from overseas who's on a whistlestop tour ("if it's Sunday, it's Wiltshire, England") saw me there for the arrival of the 08:55 from London and its onward journey towards Penzance ...

Perhaps it was because it was such a bitterly cold morning that "everyone" wanted to wait in the waiting room / cafe.  But that was so crowded that some people (male!) were standing in the gents to keep warm too ...

Here's the crowd milling around the train - anxious to get on and be on their way, slighly late due to "train late from depot" but with a good chance of recovering most or all of that by PNZ

One of the discussion points that's been strongly around on the Berks and Hants to Devon / Cornwall agenda is the intermediate stops. Yesterday morning really brought it home to me just how important the Westbury Westbound stops are, even at times that might surprise people who've not been there to see it.
