Title: Re: Six interesting pictures - but where are they? Post by: grahame on October 14, 2012, 16:23:35 No 6 is Swindon. Indeed .. and at 11 minutes, you were even faster than the 12 minutes for BigNoseMac's recent quick quiz! Title: Re: Six interesting pictures - but where are they? Post by: old original on October 14, 2012, 17:23:50 I'll have a go at no.4 ...possibly Portland?
Title: Re: Six interesting pictures - but where are they? Post by: paul7575 on October 14, 2012, 18:00:06 Concur, number 4 is definitely on Portland, it's known as the 'Merchant's Railway' but not actually a railway as we'd know it, it was a 'gravity and rope operated' industrial incline...
Paul Title: Re: Six interesting pictures - but where are they? Post by: anthony215 on October 14, 2012, 18:02:40 Number 1 is Cheltenham Spa station.
Title: Re: Six interesting pictures - but where are they? Post by: grahame on October 14, 2012, 18:39:49 Correct on both 1 and 4 ... Cheltenham Spa, and a rope incline on Portland. Now - 2, 3 and 5 to go.

Title: Re: Six interesting pictures - but where are they? Post by: anthony215 on October 14, 2012, 20:42:46 I agree that Picture 2 is Bristol Temple Meads
Title: Re: Six interesting pictures - but where are they? Post by: grahame on October 14, 2012, 20:55:34 Yep, No. 2 is Temple Meads.
I'm not surprised that 3 and 5 are the last ones left. Views from the window - one 'in area' and one not! Title: Re: Six interesting pictures - but where are they? Post by: eightf48544 on October 15, 2012, 10:03:57 Is 3 the K&A aquaduct at Avoncliffe i think.

Sorry, no, it isn't ... but you're in the right county! Title: Re: Six interesting pictures - but where are they? Post by: ellendune on October 15, 2012, 18:12:21 Is no 3 Corsham?
Title: Re: Six interesting pictures - but where are they? Post by: grahame on October 15, 2012, 18:36:14 Is no 3 Corsham? Yes, it is ... "here should be a station"? Title: Re: Six interesting pictures - but where are they? Post by: Worcester_Passenger on October 15, 2012, 21:02:08 Is 5 the canal just south of Lancaster station?
Title: Re: Six interesting pictures - but where are they? Post by: grahame on October 15, 2012, 22:00:24 Is 5 the canal just south of Lancaster station? Gosh - yes. It is. I expected that one to linger longer :D 1. Cheltenham - showing a South West Trains unit 2. Bristol Temple Meads - the "bigwigs" joining the Portbury special 3. Corsham - site of a long-sought station 4. Portland - the rope incline and gravity railway 5. Lancaster - out of area - surprised that went so fast! 6. Swindon - what do you do if your dog requires water at any other station? Title: Re: Six interesting pictures - but where are they? Post by: ellendune on October 15, 2012, 22:02:03 Is no 3 Corsham? Yes, it is ... "here should be a station"? Was this the replaceemnt for the culvert that collapsed at some time int he past and flooded the station? Title: Re: Six interesting pictures - but where are they? Post by: Worcester_Passenger on October 17, 2012, 03:42:30 Is 5 the canal just south of Lancaster station? Gosh - yes. It is. I expected that one to linger longer :D Well that's a slight improvement - my last successful spotting of a picture in a quiz was the bar at Temple Meads.
