Title: Off peak ticket combined with Rover - any restrictions? Post by: Btline on September 09, 2012, 15:28:25 Query from a friend of mine, thought I would ask you all: :)
If you are travelling from Kidderminster to Aberystwyth using a Welsh Rover (valid from Shrewsbury to Aber) combined with an off peak return from Kidderminster to Shrewsbury, is there any time restriction? The ticket office at Wolverhampton said no. I assume this is correct as the tickets are combined as one. Title: Re: Off peak ticket combined with Rover - any restrictions? The Off Peak Return is 'valid by any train except those timed to depart Mondays to Fridays before 0900. (http://brfares.com/#faredetail?orig=KID&dest=SHR&rlc=%20%20%20&rte=0&ldn=0&tkt=SVR)' Did the ticket office at Wolverhampton say, "No" to the question, 'Is there any time restriction on the combination of tickets?" Or "No" to the question "Is the combination valid at any time?" Title: Re: Off peak ticket combined with Rover - any restrictions? If an 'add-on' was asked for to be used 'any time' then it's possible the clerk offered the 'Anytime Return' from Kidderminster to Shrewsbury. There is no way to excess a Rover type ticket to increase it's area of validity or allow the combination of tickets to be used at any time. Any additional fare would have to be a point-to-point ticket. This would not change the validity of the (I assume) Explore North and Mid Wales Flexi-Rover. That ticket would remain valid from 0915 from Shrewsbury to Aberystwyth whatever it is used in combination with.
