A man has been arrested after a woman fell from a bridge on to a railway track in Dorset, British Transport Police have said.

The woman, in her 20s, suffered pelvic, arm and leg injuries and was taken to hospital after falling near Pokesdown station just before 10:00 BST.

Train services were halted in both directions before the line was reopened just after 11:00 BST.

A man was held on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

He is being questioned by officers.
