Title: Paddington Station ticket checks at Platform 8/9 Post by: chineseJohn on June 26, 2012, 08:57:25 nice to see FGW doing ticket checks on Platform 8/9 this morning. They've setup barriers to channel people towards ticket checkers.
Good flow of people and no major hold-ups, amazing to see the number of people without tickets. I did wonder what the barriers were for as we were pulling into Paddington although it became obvious when I saw them checking tickets..

I have edit the struck through text the quoted by me because it is unwarranted. There are people who think it is their right not to have a valid ticket and will become very offensive to staff and it is not unheard of to become violent hence the Police. You cannot take a stereotypical view that because someone looks like a yob they don't have a ticket and the chap in smart suit has a ticket I have seen at Waterloo some very well turned out be-suited men become very agitated because they have been caught.
