Title: Apprentices' Reunion
Post by: bobm on June 06, 2012, 09:22:36
Given the number of railway and ex-railway staff on here, this article from the  Swindon Advertiser (http://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/news/9743668.Reunion_for_rail_apprentices/) might be of interest.

Quote
A reunion to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the British Railways Training School, in Swindon, is to take place, at the Steam railway museum on September 22.

The school was situated at the end of Dean Street, in Newburn Crescent, and trained apprentices in the trade. Anyone who was an apprentice, or has historic photographs, can contact Andy Binks on ambamwas@yahoo.com or Colin Finch on 01793 610465.

I had the "pleasure"  ::)  :-\  :o  ;D attending the Dean st school from September 1975 to July 1976, fantastically skilled instructors provided me with an excellent grounding, the date is in my diary.

Thank you for posting the link Bob  :)
