Title: Deja-vu in the East Midlands

Stories are starting to emerge that the new EMT franchise rolling stock plans are coming in for criticism. There is talk that some of the long distance regional services are to be reduced from 3 to 2 car shortly.

Does any of this sound familiar? It would be a remarkable coincidence if two separately owned franchises suffer exactly the same problems with their regional services, and yet it still isn't anything to do with the DaFT.

That is correct. EMT's three car 158s are to have their central car removed and sent to Northern in lieu of the FGW 158s which are now heading to EMT and Scotrail.

I don't really see why Northern needs more 158s, they weren't doing too badly without them were they?

FGW was also doing fine with the Wessex stock, so why mess with it  ???
