As I read it, I can travel from Cambridge to London on Wednesday evening on a super offpeak, then on to Chippenham in the middle of the day on Friday, and perhaps on to Melksham at 19:01. Post by: JayMac on March 18, 2012, 08:12:37 Your return portion is valid for one month so you can break your journey at any point for as long as the ticket remains valid. 1 day, 2 days, a week..... In London you can break your journey at an intermediate Underground station appropriate to your cross London transfer, but you can't rejoin the Underground with the same ticket. You'll need to purchase another.
You don't have to use the cross London transfer part of your return portion on the Wednesday if you don't want or need to. On arrival at KGX you can travel wherever you need to in London under your own steam and your cross London transfer will still be valid on Friday. Of course its only valid on an appropriate route from Kings Cross/Moorgate/Liverpool St/West Ham (those stations being appropriate for a journey from Cambridge) to Paddington. I seemed to recall some statement about once a journey was started it had to be completed by 02:00 and that changed to 04:59 ... must have got mixed up with something else!
