Title: Problems at Reading - 09 Feb 12
Post by: bobm on February 09, 2012, 20:34:50
Several services severely delayed at Reading this evening. It appears a Bristol service failed at Platform 7 trapping trains behind it. The 19:33 to Plymouth (complete with restaurant) was held up for 50 mins and the 19:41 to Swansea was also a victim. That signal just outside the station does no one any favours at times like this. Trains get trapped there with nowhere to go.

I wonder if the Bristol service had experienced problems prior to its arrival at Reading. If so this could have been reported and either the train crossed to another platform or following services held back so they didn't get trapped.

It didn't fail, was a different issue. But I wouldn't be at liberty to say anything more than that.
