Northern ban all mobility scooters from their trains except those that can be folded and carried onto trains. Powered wheelchairs are, however, accepted since these will fit through train doors. Nodding Donkeys, of course, present a challenge to anyone trying to get a wheelchair on board - both getting up the ramp and finding space on board. Mostly Barnsley trains are Class 142/3/4 with Class 158 on Leeds - Barnsley - Sheffield -Nottingham semi fast services.
