Title: Open Jaw to and from Ireland?
Post by: grahame on January 31, 2012, 07:13:05
I'm travelling to Ireland for work in February, and back a week later.   Attracted by SailRail (http://www.seat61.com/Ireland.htm).

I'll be leaving from somewhere in Wiltshire, but need to get back directly to a meeting further west.  The tickets are singles so that I can start from Me****** and return to Ta*****, right?    And I can book them, I think, at my friendly local staffed station?

There have been quite a few changes to SailRail tickets recently.  They have now become more like Advance fares and have to be issued differently to before.

Any station should (in theory) be able to issue such tickets.  And they are all singles now, so each direction  can be issued to different stations.

The man at seat 61 covers the changes.

Very helpful young gentleman at Paddington sorted me out with a SailRail (or be more accurate a BusRailSail) ticket for the weekend after next (Thank you, if you're reading this) - so the "any station" worked for me in practise as well as in the theory.   Single good too - flying home, as I can't get to my Saturday meeting off the evening boats from either Dublin or Rosslare  :-\
