British Transport Police appeal for information following assault - Penzance

British Transport Police (BTP) officers investigating an assault which took place in the car park at Penzance railway station in the early hours of Sunday, January 29, are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

A 21-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man received facial injuries in the apparently unprovoked attack which was reported to police shortly before 5am on Sunday. The woman also suffered an injury to her elbow.

BTP officers believe a number of people, who were making their way home after attending a nearby nightclub, may have witnessed the incident and could hold some key information.

Police are appealing for anyone who saw what happened, or who believes they may have information which could assist the investigation, to come forward in confidence.

Anyone with information is urged to contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40, or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. In all calls, please quote incident reference 95 of 29/01/2012.
