Title: Hammersmith & City platforms closed Post by: Worcester_Passenger on January 27, 2012, 05:12:58 Checking the 'journeycheck' page first thing this morning produced the news that the underground platforms are closed 'due to lack of staff'. This'll cause some chaos this morning - but I don't ever remember seeing anything like this before.

What makes it worse for me is that in all my time of using the H&C line, I have only ever seen someone in the ticket office at the top of the stairs.Title: Re: Hammersmith & City platforms closed Post by: IndustryInsider on January 27, 2012, 10:27:10 Yes it is. What makes it worse for me is that in all my time of using the H&C line, I have only ever seen someone in the ticket office at the top of the stairs. It is totally unacceptable, you're right. That's not a ticket office though, it's where staff control the information and monitor passenger flow for platforms 15/16. Trouble is, that area is SO busy pending the new station opening next year that adequate staff do have to be there to maintain safety. I expect a shortage of those staff is the reason for the closure. Title: Re: Hammersmith & City platforms closed Post by: EBrown on January 27, 2012, 10:32:52 Yes it is.
