Title: The 1957 London Overground from Euston.
Post by: JayMac on January 06, 2012, 23:28:21
There's been a spate of rather unsavoury incidents caught on smartphone cameras on trains in recent months.

Here's one 'incident' that redresses the balance a little....

Be prepared ............... the layout of those coaches are likely to be used on the Crossrail stock

That'll be fun from Maidenhead to central London!

There is no evidence yet that Crossrail stock will have a 378 style internal layout.

The much delayed ITT for the stock is yet to be published, and although the Crossrail website does mention 'walk through capability' and 'wide gangways', that doesn't automatically discount normal 2+2 seating, as 'walk through capability' was also part of the definition of Thameslink trains, which still have 2+2 seating.

Nothing to say about how romantic the clip is?

Just a debate on the layout of the Class 378s.   ::)

I would have thought to most pax the concept of "a lovely day" and "commuting" would be a contender for oxymoron of the year :)

I'm surprised StopHS2 haven't claimed that the carriages on HS2 will have longitudal seating!

I clicked on the link thinking it was going to be a nostalgic look back to travel in 1957, not the 19:57!

And I also !
And no, we dont yet know the seating layout of the Crossrail units, but I cant imagine it being improvement on existing trains. Longitudinal appears likely, high density bus seats possible, proper long distance seating layout, no way !
