The small print includes that the renewal must be for the same duration as the current ticket; and not available at stations south of Amersham. And that's pretty much it. No restriction on weekly seasons, nor that the tickets must be for Chiltern trains only. They currently have to offer 5% to their own season ticket holders of a month or longer owing to failing the PPM charter target of 92.75%. Indeed last period was an awful 85.5%! But to offer this to all renewals? Is it a marketing howler of a deliberate ploy to get as much cash across their tills as possible (how much commission would they earn from another TOC, for instance?
