Thanks very much for that post, relex109!

I've taken the liberty of adding it to the forum calendar - hope you don't mind!  Smiley

Maybe a freak whirlwind will pick you up and dump you in strange land populated by bumpkins. AKA ('also known as') West Somerset.  Grin

They are called tornados (and not the green steam powered kind)

And I have been in a an F4 tornado and it was not funny (I was in a storm shelter thankfully! other wise I would not be here now)

I NEVER want to see an F5

ok - im being a bit sensitive here but its not something to joke about

Put yourself in a storm shelter (aka a basement under ground) and have the house you were under ripped  apart and scattered god knows where  whilst you are watching because the roof of your shelter is also ripped off!

Praying to any god you can think of even if you don't follow comes to mind not clicking heels

Sorry - don;t think anyone can know what its like until they have been there!

From Somerset County Gazette:

Quote from: Somerset County Gazette
West Somerset Railway - 40 years after Taunton-Minehead line closure

The special First Great Western Commemorative Train to mark the 40th Anniversary of the closure of the Taunton-Minehead branch line of British Rail will leave Taunton for Minehead on Sunday at 10.40am.

The closure of the line in 1971 was the first act in the story which led to its re-opening as the modern day West Somerset Railway from 1976 onwards.

Today the WSR is one of the leading heritage railways in the world and a major tourist attraction, carrying over 200,000 passengers each year.

The special train is formed of a First Great Western Class 150 diesel train of a type that works the surviving branch lines in South West England today.

It will be the first time however that one of these trains has run to Minehead and virtually all of the seats on the special have been sold.

Yep - good day out. Unit was indeed 150234. Made a short detour to Wellington on the outward leg to access a crossover due to points failure at Norton Fitzwarren. Was quite well loaded - most seats taken. Thanks are due to FGW (First Great Western) and WSR for organising this..
