The evening halts train yesterday (27 August) only ran from Didcot to Oxford, with the return run from Evesham cancelled completely due to more trains than usual needing repair.

And, hardly worth mentioningl, today's 0643 Worcester Shrub Hill to Paddington was a short-formation.

Tuesday September 3

Last night's short-formed 19:53 to Hereford returns as this morning's 05:23. So, not surprisingly, it's a bit cosy:
Quote
05:23 Hereford to London Paddington due 08:24
Will be formed of 5 coaches instead of 9. Service full and standing from Oxford. Catering is not available. There are no reservations on this service.
Last Updated:03/09/2024 07:41

Meanwhile
Quote
Facilities on the 05:53 London Paddington to Great Malvern due 08:38.
Will be formed of 9 coaches instead of 5.

Facilities on the 08:56 Great Malvern to London Paddington due 11:24.
Will be formed of 9 coaches instead of 5.

The evening halts service is not one to rely on at the moment:

Quote
17:04 Didcot Parkway to Moreton-In-Marsh due 18:10 will be terminated at Oxford.
It will no longer call at Hanborough, Combe, Finstock, Charlbury, Ascott-Under-Wychwood, Shipton, Kingham and Moreton-In-Marsh.
This is due to more trains than usual needing repairs at the same time

The return run from Evesham is not showing as a cancellation at the moment...  and still nothing on Journeycheck 20 minutes after it was supposed to have departed.

And the consequence was
Quote
16:58 London Paddington to Great Malvern due 19:26 will be terminated at Worcester Shrub Hill.
It will no longer call at Worcester Foregate Street, Malvern Link and Great Malvern but will call additionally at Combe, Finstock, Ascott-Under-Wychwood and Shipton.
This is due to a broken down train earlier today.
Will be formed of 5 coaches.
