17:44 Swindon to Salisbury due 18:55

17:44 Swindon to Salisbury due 18:55 will be starting late from Swindon.
This is due to a fault on a train in front of this one.
Will be formed of 2 coaches instead of 3.

Downgraded from "short" to "short AND late"

Looked very sensible to me.  8 late departing allowing connections to be made from the delayed 16:33 from Paddington, which arrived a minute after it was due to leave, and not failing to make any connections at Westbury AFAICT (as far as I can tell).

Also noting the stock for the TransWiits service didn’t arrive until 17:48  - 14 minutes late. So was turned round about as quick as it could be.

It all makes sense.  And these are what I would describe as minor issues that, had a connection failed, have become major for some people.    With a solitary proviso that - I HOPE - people were altered alerted appropriately at the stations along the way.

Signalling issues in the Westbury area causing issues with local services. London services not too badly affected.

That's the last train.

I was on the last train from Westbury as far as Melksham last night (20.7.2024) seated at the very front ... I walked through on the way from Trowbridge and counted 38 passengers.  There were 8 waiting on the platform at Melksham as I got off, along with 20 other.  So that's 46/29 in the old way we measured it in the pre-Covid build up days.

Hmm.  Isn't the car park at Trowbridge adjacent to platform 2, opposite the Booking Office side of the station?

I'm sorry if I'm wrong, I'm not a local.  Roll Eyes
