Vikings will invade Nailsea this Bank Holiday weekend for the annual May Fair (link below.)

Members of the Oskorei group will travel to the town on Monday and set up a Viking village in the Millennium Park, putting on weaponry displays and demonstrations of hand-to-hand fighting with real swords.

The Viking visitors will be the star attraction of the annual fair which is organised by the 2nd Nailsea Scout Group.

The event runs from noon to 5pm and organisers are promising a fun afternoon with attractions including sideshows, charity stalls and performances by local bands.

There will be a display by the Nailsea Scout and Guide marching band and a football tournament between local cubs and scouts.

For bargain hunters there will also be a book sale from 10am as well as a grand raffle and refreshments.

Lucky souvenir programmes, which include a chance to win ^50, are now on sale in the town.

Both my sons are in 2nd Nailsea, so I'll be there! Indeed they're out selling programmes as I write this.
