I'm going to have to start thinking of some more original thread titles for these.  Wink

Three pictures from today, 22nd August 2012. One underpass to a station, and two station locations. Where?

2.

3.

Coming up for the Bank Holiday weekend is a bignosemac bumper picture quiz with a small prize on offer for the most correct guesses. More of that this coming Saturday. Keep your eyes peeled here in 'The Lighter Side'

I think you might be winding us up - particularly with picture 3.  Wink

Haha. Very good. Any ideas then Chris?  Wink

Just noticed a rather unfortunate crop of the first picture on the left edge.  Shocked

As I look at the pictures, I keep thinking you might have been to Bridgnorth.

In a roundabout way, all answered correctly

1. Underpass to Stourbridge Town station.

2. Bridgnorth Station on the Severn Valley Railway.

3. High Town Station on the Bridgnorth Cliff Railway (and the next door Winding House Tea Rooms Wink)

I'll post some more pictures from the day out shortly.

Yes thanks Btline, a most enjoyable day out in the West Midlands and Shropshire marred only slightly by delays getting home and very poor customer service from London Midland. That's a story covered in another thread viewable to Frequent Posters.

The Severn Valley Railway is a gem. Not been there since I was a kid. A real surprise on Wednesday was seeing a Southern Railway Bullied Battle of Britain Class locomotive  in action. Still running-in following overhaul, but in passenger service.

Best part of the day though was being invited up onto the footplate of LMS (London Midland Scottish - 1923 to 1948) Ivatt Class 4, 43106 at Bridgnorth and being allowed to shovel some coal into the firebox. That mad this big kid very happy!

Some more pictures from the SVR and other places in the West Midlands:

Class 139 at Stourbridge Town

Kidderminster Town Booking Hall

G. J. Churchward GWR (Great Western Railway) 2800 Class, 2857 at Kidderminster Town

Oliver Bullied Southern Railway Battle of Britain Class, 34053 Sir Keith Park at Kidderminster Town

As above at Bridgnorth

My first ever step onto a living breathing steam engine footplate! LMS Ivatt Class 4, 43106

Sign in the Mk1 buffet on the 1605 from Bridgnorth to Kidderminster Town

Would you care for a shag?

The beautifully kept Arley Station, with all the period features including a Station Master straight out of central casting!

First time I've ever seen a GWR poster featuring the town where I grew up

Bridgnorth Cliff Railway, High Town

And finally..... In the Gents at Kidderminster Town station. I wasn't even wearing a dress!  Tongue

Next time you go, I recommend Bewdley station (3 platforms - still has the atmosphere of being a double junction) and even the short walk into the town centre.
