Up trains from the South West are being diverted via Melksham (sorry grahame) due to a points failure at Theale. Disruption expected until midday at the earliest.
Do not be sorry. I'm delighted to have long distance travellers pass through the great beauty of Melksham Spa, even if that delays the local service by a few minutes. Such diversions probably ensured that the line survived at all, and these days with a tokenises block such one-direction disruption does not result in a shortage of tokens and Bradford Junction, nor a surfeit of them in the platform staff room at Chippenham.
