From First Great Western JourneyCheck:

Alterations to services between Llanelli and Carmarthen
Owing to poor weather conditions earlier between Llanelli and Carmarthen all lines are blocked.
Train services running to and from these stations may be revised at short notice. Disruption is expected until 16:00 15/01.
Damage to the sea wall at Pembrey following the storms at the end of last week has been repaired but further damage to the sea wall has been found at Ferryside. The line between Llanelli & Carmarthen will therefore remain closed until further notice.
First Great Western services which would normally operate from / to Carmarthen will be revised to operate from / to Swansea or Llanelli instead.

I admit I am not surprised especially given how close the line is to the see with the sections at Lougher, between Llanelli & Burry Port and near Frerryside being most vunerable.

On  this occasion it does seem like they have taken a far harder battering than usual. The continuation of the bad weather is certainly not helping Network rail try to repair the damage.
